Hi everyone! My name is Taylor Kaminski and I’m from Boston, Massachusetts. That hasn’t always been home to me, though. I was born in San Francisco, California, where I lived until I was six years old. After that, my father’s job required my family to relocate to London, England… many miles away from my hometown! Although we planned to spend the next five years of our lives in rainy England, my father’s job sent another relocation our way. Since second grade, I have been living in a small town just outside of Boston. I have one sister who just turned twenty-four named Ashley.
I spend my summers on Cape Cod lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons and I couldn’t imagine it any other way! Lifeguarding has actually led me to my decision in my choice of major! Because I enjoy the first aid and CPR side of lifeguarding, it made me realize I want to pursue a career in medicine. So now in my first semester at PSU I’m currently majoring in Biobehavioral Health and I hope to continue onto med school!
In high school, I was a varsity cheerleader freshman-junior year. My senior year, however, I quit to devote more time to swimming. I was on the co-ed varsity swim team at my high school for four years and was the captain of the fifty person team my senior year. Outside of school, I am on a USA swim team. I also have danced my whole life. Starting at age three and continuing up until now, I have taken classes in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and hip-hop.
